Welcome to the Nashville chapter of the United Nations Association.

The Nashville chapter of the United Nations Association is a local chapter of UNA-USA, a national non-partisan, non-profit, organization devoted to building public support for constructive U.S. leadership in a more effective United Nations. Our chapter was formed in 1945, and claims to be the first in the nation.

Our members believe that the United Nations is essential to a world which is becoming small and increasingly interdependent. Violence, hunger, disease, pollution, poverty, illiteracy, and war impact all people on this planet. The UN is the international agency able to cross all boundaries and make our world more liveable through cooperation rather than confrontation.

Our chapter holds frequent seminars on current international issues, maintains an office to provide members and the community with information and material relating to the UN, hosts events celebrating UN Day and Human Rights Day, lobbies our legislators on support of the UN, both its budget and its programs, and promotes the UN in school and community events.
